Clinical Psychologist
She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Boğaziçi University, graduating with High Honors. She earned her master’s degree in the Clinical Psychology Program (Couple and Family Therapy track) at Istanbul Bilgi University. During her graduate studies, she served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University and delivered instruction to graduate students in the applied component of the “Couple Therapy” course taught by Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Kafesçioğlu.
In 2024, she completed Level I and Level II Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT-C) training accredited by the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and facilitated by Senem Zeytinoğlu Saydam. She is currently engaged in the supervision process required for ICEEFT certification.
During her undergraduate education, she contributed to the development of intervention program materials for the “Strengthening Interspousal Conflict Resolution Processes Project” conducted at Koç University. She also conducted clinical interviews with couples who had experienced child loss as part of the “Mourning Project” at the Self and Relationships Laboratory of Sabancı University, led by Dr. Asuman Büyükcan Tetik.
Throughout her master’s training, she worked for three years as a Research Assistant on the project “The Efficacy and Mechanisms of Change of Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children” conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Halfon. Findings from this project were published in the article entitled “The Efficacy of Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children With Internalizing and Externalizing Problems: A Randomized Controlled Trial.” Within the scope of the study, she administered the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test to over 100 parents and children, and conducted the Story Stem Completion Task and the Child Attachment Interview to assess children’s attachment patterns. In addition, she facilitated a 12-week structured group intervention for children and parents at Istanbul Bilgi University and was awarded the Child–Parent Development Workshop Practitioner Certificate.
In 2023, she completed professional training in the Marschak Interaction Method, Theraplay Level I, and Group Theraplay. In her clinical work with parents and children, she integrates Theraplay-based, attachment-focused interventions.
Her clinical interests and areas of practice include relational and interpersonal difficulties, communication problems, self-esteem issues, stress, and adjustment difficulties in adults; communication problems and conflict in couples and families, premarital counseling, and marital distress. She also works with families and children on child-focused family therapy, parent–child relationships, attachment-related difficulties, anxiety and fears, separation anxiety, test anxiety, anger regulation and aggression, sibling rivalry, and problematic screen use.
She is a member of the Turkish Psychological Association and the Theraplay Association – Play and Family Therapies Association.
